Діяльність завжди краща за безділля, рух – за лежання, а помилки в роботі важливіші і значно продуктивніші за помилки у спогляданні. Це давня аксіома, і кому вона не до вподоби, той не наш побратим. Приблизно так можна сформувати найпершу засадничу тезу виникнення нашого сайту і середовища довкола нього.
Є література – багатогранне, багатовекторне, багатоідейне і і ще з десяток схожих «багато…» – явище. Вона існувала, існує і буде існувати, поки світу. Літературу творять, нею живуть, довкола неї ламають списи і нігті, врешті, її прагнуть перетворити на індустрію та годівницю. Це добре? Важко сказати… Принаймні краще, аніж би її не помічали зовсім, або керували нею, яко колгоспом чи «тіповим учрєждєнієм».
Але література не може розвиватися лише за економічними законами – це також незаперечний і сотні разів підтверджений факт. Бо тоді вона цілковито перетвориться на те, що зараз називається попсою – на липкий сурогат у яскравій обгортці. І нехай такий продукт споживає більшість, але ж не ВСІ! І де гарантія, що кожен споживач попси потребує тільки її? Отже, якщо добре все прорахувати, літературних реципієнтів можна ділити приблизно 50 на 50. Але наша біда в тому, що індустрійно-літературний дискурс передбачає задоволення потреб винятково «своєї» половини, а інша – їй глибоко до лампи. А нам – ні! Тому ми й намагаємося максимально підтримувати молодих авторів, чергуючи їх із класиками, визнаними геніями і метрами. Час никання у слонячо-костяних вежах минув – ми всі маємо чути один одного.
Нерідко нас запитують – а чому література «інша»? Стосовно чого вона інша? Відповідь проста – щодо графоманії й несмаку, щодо попси і пустопорожніх рефлексій, щодо шароварщини й безідейності. А основним і найголовнішим критерієм належності до нашого середовища був і залишається Його Високість Талант. Іншими базовими принципами нашого існування є справжня свобода слова, взаємодовіра, повага та доброзичливість.
Ми прагнемо розвивати наше середовище максимально відкритим і цивілізованим. І не поспішаємо формалізовувати своєї діяльності, бо завжди існує небезпека бюрократизуватися як Н. спілка письменників України або переміститися до віртуального простору як АУП. Тому й кличемо до себе всіх, хто геніальний, пасіонарний, креативний і активний, хто прагне «створити себе», а при цьому – ще й допомогти іншому. Якщо відчуваєте себе таким – ми побратими!

Прозаїк, поет, мистецтвознавець. Народився 1965 р. на Тернопільщині. На початку 90-х активно займався громадською діяльністю.

Ретранслятор і матеріалізатор ідеї, засновник і керівник видавничого проекту «Бібліотека сайту «Інша література» - Сергій ПАНТЮК.
Народився 1966 року на Хмельниччині. Автор семи поетичних збірок та роману «Сім днів і вузол смерті» (2007), численних публікацій у вітчизняній і закордонній періодиці (тексти перекладалися вісьмома мовами).
